Online Writing Support

Online Writing Support provides Saskatchewan Polytechnic's post-secondary students, faculty and staff with individualized writing help to improve academic writing skills.

Online Writing Support Hours:

Monday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please note, Online Writing Support is closed all stat holidays and over the Winter Break.

Using an email-based system, you can submit your paper to receive feedback in one to two days. Learning Services will review a portion of your writing, point out sample errors and teach you how to correct those errors. For ethical reasons, we cannot proofread or edit your paper; however, additional appointments or submissions can be made to work on your assignment.

Please click Online Writing Support Request Form to get started.

Please have the following items ready to submit:

1. Your assignment (Word format only)
2. The assignment instructions (Word, PDF or picture)
3. The assignment marking guide or rubric (Word, PDF or picture)

Note: Remember to delete the Learning Services comments from your reviewed paper before submitting it to your instructor.

See the video below for a step-by-step tutorial on using the Online Writing Support Request Form.

Make An Appointment

Book an appointment with a Learning Services faculty member.

If you have booked an online appointment, you will receive a confirmation email with a Zoom link.  Click on this link at the time of your appointment.

Click on the blue "i" icon next to the faculty member’s name to find out the specific type of support they offer.

You may select a 45 minute appointment or 25 minute appointment.

Faculty will:

  • Help you to understand the assignment or paper & provide constructive feedback
  • Provide support for topics such as writing, communication, and study skills in areas such as business, nursing, and human services.
  • Clarify or explain class lectures and activities in a variety of formats
  • Suggest where to look for the answers

Faculty will offer you guidance and encourage independent learning, so you can do the work more effectively. This helps you gain confidence in your own abilities.

What is expected of students?

  • To determine and discuss what area of learning they need help with
  • To actively participate in the tutoring sessions
  • To cancel sessions with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice
  • To follow-up if an appointment is missed or needs to be rescheduled
